![]() ![]() I have never had any real problems with it other than deleting cookies for Facebook, causing me to re-enter my passwords etc, no big deal.Today I upgraded and purchased CleanMyMac X 2018. The Question:I have been using CleanMyMac 2 (purchased in 2010) regularly and fully updated to run routine tasks on my iMac. □ Now in 2018 I am retired, I'm 65 years old and I need some assistance and guidance please. I have an idea of what I am doing is the point of all this information, outdated now I agree, but I have a clue is my point. My PPC Mac at that stage was my web design computer for the Adobe Suite of software and Microsofts Office suite of software. I was also the SysAdmin responsible for the server farm and internal network of Windows computers. For a company here in Melbourne developing WAP, SMS and MMS in co-operation with the Nokia Corporation and the Telstra Corporation. In 1996 to 2004 I was employed as a futurist and the person responsible for finding talented and creative coders and application developers (Project Manager). All my software is fully registered and I have purchased/own all of it, nothing is shareware or pirated software. I am also running Intego Suite X9 Barrier software to stop any Malware or online intrusions. I am trying to post to Mac and software issues.I purchased the full version of CleanMyMac 2 (it came bundled with my Apple Mac OS X software CD's) through the Apple store back in 2010 when I first purchased this Mac Computer I am using now directly from Apple Computer:macOS High Sierra - Version 10.12.6 iMac (27 inch Mid 2010)Processor 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MBSerial Number WXXXXXXXXNRI have this Mac fully updated as far as the Mac OS X is concerned. That and the fact that my macbook air is now locked out of my router, even within one metre of it, just adds to my suspicions.ĬleanMyMac X - Software or Spyware/Trojan? I apologise most sincerely if this is is in the wrong discussion group. Is it likely this could have allowed a bogus system update to show in system prefs? It seems too much of a coincidence. On my imac I changed my e-mail password and for good measure, deleted cookies & history on my imac's browser, too.Īll went well on the macbook air until now. When I tried going back into my email on the macbook air, it wouldn't let me in. ![]() I immediately deleted all browsing history & cookies. ![]() I now hover over email addresses to see the real address!! I didn't then and got a page saying some now forgotten bollox. I am suspecting a trojan because a few weeks ago I got an email from "apple support". Also can't connect to my router to reinstall os!!! Was happily on internet b4 restart. Suspected trojan Sys Prefs on 2019 macbook air wanted a restart to install an update. No Time Machine backup - Time Machine backup not found. Heres an etrecheck report I did, then I tried giving it full disk access but it had the name etrecheck.app instead of the apps name etrecheck.Īnything that appears on this list needs immediate attention. Last thing I should mention- I decided to test this out by getting a BRAND NEW computer so NO I am not using my other previous MacBook Pro because I wanted to see what the problem could be. I really don't know what to do because if I get a new Apple ID then I risk losing everything I bought in the Mac store which includes final cut pro and many other applications I bought. I had all my applications showing up as calendar.app etc here is a picture of it in my iCloud. My Could has some adware or malware and I don't know how to get rid of it I recently posted on one of these threads that my Mac was having tons of issues with adware and malware inside my MacBook Pro. ![]()
